Monday 23rd March Home Learning

Please log on to Google Classroom to see the work for today. Remember that you will need to go into designated groups to find the work (Mrs May or Mr Sallis). You will find your English and Maths work under your respective teachers and any other subject work under the Y6 classroom folder.

Mr Sallis and I will be setting daily maths and English tasks and I will set you an additional task based on another area of the curriculum.

Today your subjects will be English, Maths and Geography. Continue to read daily and use additional resources to practise skills of other key areas.

Remember that you can use the stream to ask questions.

Those of you who were absent last week need to accept invites to new groups.

Y6 information

Today, all Y6 children have been given their PE kits to take home, along with additional work booklets and things to use at home during closure. The homework CGP books and test papers should not be used unless instructed to do so. However, those children who have been working with additional 10 minute test books in the morning are welcome to use these at their leisure. Those children who are currently not in school will be able to collect their things from the school playground at 1:30pm tomorrow. More information on home learning to follow.

Music

At St Adrian’s, the intention is that children gain a firm understanding of what music is through listening, singing, playing, evaluating, analysing, and composing across a wide variety of periods, styles, traditions, and musical genres. Our objective is to develop a curiosity for the subject, as well as an understanding and acceptance of the validity and importance of all types of music, and a respect for the role that music, in all its forms, may play in a person’s life. We are committed to ensuring children understand the value and importance of music in the wider community, and are able to use their musical skills, knowledge, and experiences to involve themselves in music, in a variety of different contexts.

Computing

At St Adrian’s our pupils will:

  • learn about the science and foundations of computing to develop understanding
  • develop skills to produce purposeful and creative content for a range of applications, and know that there are many careers they can aspire to by acquiring these skills
  • be competent, respectful, responsible and safe users of technology, discerning of its content, so that they have the opportunity to participate positively in a global community.

Our aim is to deliver fun and engaging computing lessons within a meaningful context that develop creativity, resilience and problem-solving/critical thinking skills. We look to embed knowledge and use of technology across the curriculum where it can enhance the learning experience, or be used to ensure learning opportunities are made accessible to every child.
