Y2 Parents meeting information
Thank you to all the parents who were able to come to our information morning on Wednesday. For those that weren’t able here is a copy of the presentation.
Year One plant bulbs
Now that autumn is here, this week we started our year long science topic all about Plants and Seasons. The children were all given a tulip bulb and described it carefully, coming up with some wonderful observations. In between the rain showers, we planted the bulbs and then imagined what the flowers would look like in spring once the bulb has grown. We will look for shoots as the bulb grows over the winter, into spring.

Y6 Carnival Masks
As part of our geography topic on Brazil, children will be designing and making their own masks/headpieces following the theme of carnival. In lesson time, we have explored the key themes of a Brazilian carnival and children have had the opportunity to analyse example masks/headpieces and their use of vibrant colours. On Tuesday, they were informed that over the course of the week, they need to bring in materials to make their masks/headpieces. Materials could include, feathers, gems, coloured card or cardboard. They will be making their masks during lesson time on Monday, therefore children need to bring in their resources for Monday 18th September.

Year 6 are ready and raring to go
Meet the new year 6 class. We are excited and ready for the year ahead.
Year One Welcome Meeting 11.09.17
The Year One children are settling into their new classroom very well and have responded enthusiastically to the learning. This week, we have focussed on counting and measuring accurately, creating patterns and writing independently.
The Year One meeting with parents is scheduled for this Monday morning at 9am – I look forward to meeting with you all in the Year One classroom.
Welcome to Year 2!
It’s been a great start to year 2 and all the children have settled in really well, especially our new boy Joseph. Here are a few of the activities we have been doing this week. We look forward to seeing you next Wednesday at the parents meeting.
Year 2: homework
Homework for this week is to read the books that have been sent home. Please aim to return them sometime during next week. We will explain how the reading book system works in year 2 at next week’s parents meeting. Remember to sign the reading records!
