Hello children and parents,
It has been a very sunny week and the children enjoyed spending more time outside playing with water and sand, drawing with crayons and making muddy pies!

We were also busy getting ready for our class assembly, singing songs, practicing our lines and creating beautiful art.

In Little Wandle we continued reading phase 4 sounds, revisiting all tricky words learnt so far and remembering how to ‘chunk’ a word in case it’s too long. We specifically paid attention to long vowel sounds and read words like ‘gloom’ , ‘speed’ , ‘spoon’. The focus this term is securing writing sentences with capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.
In Maths this week we were composing and decomposing shapes, finding out how to use shapes to create new shapes and how to cut shapes to create smaller ones.

And of course we were thinking about our dads and how special they are.

And finally but not least, congratulations for all your hard work and motivation! You truly deserve the awards, red sash and golden rosette!!!

What is a Father?
A father is someone who’s always around
when you’re stuck for some friendly advice.
A father is someone who knows how you feel
and who’ll help you without thinking twice…
A father is someone so thoughtful and kind
he’s made his own place in your heart…
A father is someone you wish all life’s best
with the love that’s been his from the start.

Dates to remember:
