What an exciting week everyone! A good end to another half term! Time is just flying!!!
We started thinking about our Assembly on 20th June and were super busy learning the songs. Can’t wait to show you our wonderful acting and singing! I bet you can’t wait too!
Wednesday was a fun filled day and we learnt so much about Judaism and when and why Jewish people celebrate Shabbat. We tried some grape juice and a special bread too:

We also dressed up and read Hebrew. Fascinating!!!

National Numeracy day!
For the first time ever, National Numeracy Day had a theme: money. So we really embraced the challenge and played lots of games with money… selling fresh fruit and vegetables in our shop and buying delicious food for a teddy bear picnic.

We even had some real coins and discussed the difference in shape, size and colour. Is the biggest coin worth the most? Then we did some coin prints using pencil and white paper!

In Little Wandle this week we have been looking at -ed word endings, deciding whether it makes -id sound like in hunted or -t sound like in bumped. We even read words with -est endings like softest and strongest. We also learnt the last 2 tricky words for reception:

Please practice all tricky words at home too, both reading and writing, so your children can feel confident recalling them. Don’t forget to continue reading little wandle practice book and library book.
Thank you for your continued support.
In PE this week we continued doing gymnastics and used the apparatus in the hall. Everyone really enjoyed climbing, jumping and landing with two legs and straight back. Well done Reception!

And finally but not least, congratulations for all your hard work and motivation! You truly deserve the awards, red sash and golden rosette!!!

Dates to remember:
Monday 26th May – Half term
Friday 6th June – Pentecost party (Parents welcomed, Wear red clothes)
Friday 6th June – No reading morning
Have a wonderful half term!
Looking forward seeing you all on 02 June!
