Risk taking: students should be encouraged to take academic risks when they are learning. An environment where the fear of failing is only seen as the next step in success motivates and increases student learning and achievement. Pupils need daily opportunities to take reasonable risks and challenges in order to develop into strong and capable children. A reasonable risk is any action, activity, or behaviour that starts with careful consideration and results in taking a leap towards an safe unknown.
