Resilience

Resilient learners feel a sense of control over their own destinies. They know that they can reach out to others for support when needed, and they readily take initiative to solve problems. Teachers facilitate resilience by helping children think about and consider various paths through adversity. Resilience is the ability to bounce back from mistakes, adversity, challenges, or even stress. It’s not something that pupils either have or don’t have; it’s a skill that should be developed. Resilient learners are more likely to take healthy risks because they don’t fear falling short.
