Year 5 - St Josephine Bakhita

Year 5 had an online live stream lesson with Tim Peake, the British astronaut. About 250 other schools joined the streamed lesson too. 

Tim told us what it was like to go to the International Space Station 10 years ago- when some of us weren't even born! However, the videos of his experience and the memories he shared with us made it all sound very exciting. Some children who were at the Science Museum with Tim Peake, asked him questions about his time in space such as what his favourite experiment was, what was the food like, how do astronauts sleep and even how they go to the toilet! He said his favourite wow moment was seeing planet Earth from space. It made him appreciate just how beautiful our planet is. 

In preparation for the lesson, we all made the top of a rocket and used the milk bottles we brought in to propel them into the air at the very same time Tim Peake was launched into space at 11.03am 10 years ago!
