Year 2 visit Lee Valley

This summer, the Year 2 children spent a day exploring a variety of habitats at Lee Valley. They found all kinds of minibeasts as they pond dipped in the stream, surrounded by nesting coots and ducks. This was very exciting morning, followed by an afternoon, hunting for creatures along an urban brick wall before heading through the woods to reach a huge meadow. In the meadow, the children were able to use sweeping nets to catch grasshoppers and crickets, before returning them all back to their natural habitat. Great fun outside, while learning about our natural world is a great way to spend the day!
