News from Year 4

Wow! What a busy week!

The children have been so busy this week as we have enjoyed our ‘Other Faiths’ week, learning about the Guru Granth Sahib and Sikhism, exploring ways to be kind to each other and ourselves as part of anti-bullying week, and creating, co-operating and negotiating as we have worked to make our sculpture of a firefighter, as part of our art week.

Thanks to you all for sending in the recycled materials. Some have made it as far as our sculpture, some have been worn around the class all week, and some may yet make it back to you as an essential piece of firefighting equipment. The children have loved it!

We are looking forward to welcoming Fr Francis on Friday to celebrate our class mass. We continue to protect our bubble and so Fr Francis will join us remotely. Sadly, this means that no-one will receive the Eucharist, it will not be distributed. However, all children are invited to dress up and celebrate the mass. For those who have already taken their first Holy Communion, we invite them to wear their outfits. For those who’s parishes were unable to hold the first Holy Communion, we invite them to wear any suitable outfit to celebrate the mass. Children should wear their uniforms to school and they will have the chance to change ahead of the mass.
