Prayer

Children start and end their school day with a prayer as well as saying Grace before lunch each day.  Each year group has additional prayers to learn throughout the year, beginning with the Our Father in Year One.

Throughout all of the RE topics, there are also a number of opportunities for the children to write and say their own prayers.

Morning Prayer

God, my Father, I give you today,
All that I think and do and say.
My work, my play, my joy, my fun,
I give to you, through your dear Son

Hometime Prayer

God, my Father, I come to say
Thank you for your love today.
Thank you for my family and all the friends you give to me.
Guard me in the dark of night and in the morning, send your light.

The following prayers are also said at other times throughout the year.

Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit make me holy
Holy Spirit make me strong.
Holy Spirit make me holy
Holy Spirit make me strong.

OUR SCHOOL PRAYER

Let it be known to all who enter here,
That Christ is the reason for this school,
The unseen and ever present teacher in its classes.
The model for our children.
The inspiration for our staff.

As children grow older, they also learn the Hail Mary and a number of other important prayers.
